A Chicago Tea Party to Celebrate the 3rd of July

Happy 4th of July, everyone! Because July 4th and the Boston Tea Party seem to go hand-in-hand, we folks decided to celebrate accordingly. Yesterday, because the wacky City of Chicago celebrates on the 3rd instead of the 4th, and because ReadyMcReady and ChattyMcChat were in town, we had a tea party!

Only instead of tea, we had Diet Coke...served in tea cups. Yes, I kid you not. It was great! We had pesto & sour cream sandwiches, cupcakes with gummi worms, and Mr. Sunshine brought home-made scones, fruit tarts (yes!!), lemon bars, and chocolate cream puffs (they were sooooo good)!! Oh, and we also played croquet...with plastic balls...in the dark...and a bird shat on Mr. Sunshine. I'm telling you, we know how to celebrate and if you weren't there, you missed out on good times. Sounds perfect for a tea party celebrating the 4th on the 3rd, don't you think??!!
