My Firm Is Now My Favorite Color!

I am so excited that my firm is going green, and really doing it hard core. There will be no more styrofoam or paper cups - everyone is getting a GREEN (i'm so excited!) mug for hot liquids. Water bottles are soon to follow so people can continue to drink water from the coolers, but the firm will no longer be providing plastic water bottles for meetings or conferences. Pitchers of filtered water will be provided instead, and a new filtration system is getting implemented. Plus, we all have paper recycling bins in our offices (FINALLY!!!). They're even switching out the kind of paper we use for printers and switching people's defaults to double-sided printing.

I am having a hard time conveying how excited I am about all this and I'm also having a hard time completely understanding why it makes me so happy, but it does! I have always believed it's important to do what we can to try to conserve and be good environmental citizens, but it's more than that. I think partly what makes this so exciting is that the firm is finally, FINALLY being proactive about something that I'm sure a lot of people (read: stuffy partners) are going to be annoyed about. There's hope! Okay, and I think it's because we're all getting GREEN mugs! Did I mention that's my favorite color??
