Well, hopefully, my friends will think this is a good idea, and we'll share the *exciting* anecdotes of our daily lives with each other. Unfortunately, "outsiders" will have to observe the mindless blabber of these individuals. Of course, departure through the emergency exits is only a quick click away, so I will not be too nonplussed. As I say, this is primarily a means to keep in touch; any entertainment value others may derive is purely an incidental benefit. Now, on with the posting.
This one goes to Mr. Sunshine, or other baking buffs: what's so great about a stand-up mixer? Do you scoff at people who still rely on their $9.99 Hamilton Beach hand mixer?
I'm not a baking buff and my family doesn't own a KitchenAid mixer, but we do own a stand-up mixer. Based on my limited experience, it's easier on your arm and gives you better consistency in the mixing. Plus, as Chatty says, you're investing in something that will last years and years. In contrast, I've already had to buy four hand-mixers over the past 10 years, so it's probably not a bad investment if you like to bake. :)
